I am a Senator in the Parliament of Australia and am currently a Minister in a key portfolio. To protect the innocent, my staff and key backers in the ALP, I need to keep some level of anonymity.
Suffice it to say I’m one of the Gillard Government’s foundations, known for engaging public appearances, incisive policy analysis and a general love of people.
Part of my mission is to make Australians, and particularly South Australians, realise the burden of public office and the extra sacrifice involved in keeping you well informed on issues you probably don’t understand that well. The remaining part of my mission is to show you that the Liberal Party of Australia, the right-wing commentariat and NSW Labor can’t be trusted, tend to smell and don’t appreciate Magnum PI for the politico-legal masterpiece it is.
I’m always relatively ok with hearing from people with ideas, so drop me a line on Twitter, make a comment on one of my informative treatises here on this blog, or write a letter to me – although the AFP shred most of them anyway.

I like manufactured, tongue in cheek issues like your anti-Halloween thing if there’s some mirth and irony attached. Fifty years ago, when Australiaism (sic) began to die, a Melbourne journalist initiated a similar “Down with AFL” movement, but the sheer number of dim dickheads sending hate mail so bogged the system, that journalist Keith Dunstan bent to the masses to reveal all.
